A man on trial for frustrated murder allegedly finished the job and shot the complainant dead shortly after a court hearing in Quezon City Thursday afternoon.
Quoting the victim’s wife, police said the slain Alfredo Ilustrisimo, 65, tagged Alvin Cunanan as one of the two motorcycle-riders who ambushed him around 4:15 p.m. on Lunduyan Street, Barangay Batasan Hills.
Earlier that afternoon, Ilustrisimo and his wife attended a 1:30 p.m. hearing at Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 80, where Cunanan is charged with frustrated murder for a shooting incident that wounded Ilustrisimo on June 27, 2013.
Thursday’s hearing, which ended at 3:30 p.m., centered on a doctor’s testimony on the wounds sustained by Ilustrisimo in that attack.
About 45 minutes after leaving the courthouse, the Ilustrisimo couple were walking home on Lunduyan Street—where Cunanan also lived—when two men on a motorbike blocked their path.
The rider drew a pistol and shot Ilustrisimo in the head, according to the case investigator, PO3 Marlon dela Vega.
Before he died, Ilustrisimo told his wife: “S’ya, s’ya si Alvin ang bumaril sa’kin (It’s him, it’s Alvin who shot me),” Dela Vega said in his incident report.
