The mother of a senior British School Manila (BSM) student, who committed suicide after allegedly being bullied by a teacher, turned emotional when she appeared at a Senate hearing on Tuesday.
Trixie Madamba broke into tears as she lamented what she described as the “lack of compassion,” “stone-walling” and “insensitivity” of officials of the school after her son, Liam, jumped off to death from the sixth floor of a car park building in Makati City last February 6.

Madamba, in earlier reports, noted that Liam took his life a day after he had a private meeting with his angry professor, identified as Natalie Mann, over an essay which allegedly contained plagiarized lines.
Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. also became emotional after listening to the mother’s opening statement.
“What happened? Why did Liam commit suicide? Why did he kill himself?” Marcos asked school officials present during the hearing of the Senate committee on education, arts and culture. IDL
