Did you know: Ramon Valera

Today, May 25, is the 43rd death anniversary of National Artist for Fashion Design Ramon Valera. Born on Aug. 31, 1912, Valera is considered the top Filipino designer from the 1930s to the 1960s, designing for first ladies and members of Manila’s elite. Valera died in 1972 and was posthumously named National Artist in 2006.–Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
