DAVAO CITY—Maguindanao Gov. Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu said he is tracing the users of the social media accounts that were used to question the alleged display of wealth by his family.
“We are still trying to trace them but one of the accounts was already abandoned. It is clear that these accounts were created only to destroy our reputation,” he said in an interview.
But Mangudadatu said he was sure that those behind the online attacks “are my enemies.”
“I will not name names but definitely from my political rivals,” Mangudadatu said.
He said the wealth being referred to in social media are actually hard-earned assets of his family.
A series of articles came out in social media attacking the Mangudadatu family for alleged ostentatious display of wealth, including at least two helicopters.
Mangudadatu said the helicopters are not owned by his family. Karlos Manlupig, Inquirer Mindanao
