Passengers of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT 3) were stranded on Friday afternoon after two defective trains stopped its operations.

INQUIRER Bandera reported that many passengers were stranded at North Avenue station in Quezon City past 3 p.m.

The report said there was a delay of trains going southbound, making passengers wait for 25 to 40 minutes.

Bandera quoted some passengers who said they had been waiting for a ride for almost an hour already.

The platform was already congested with passengers that the area had to be cordoned off to prevent more people from entering.

INQUIRER.net tried to contact the MRT 3 management but did not receive a reply.

As of posting, MRT has resumed normal operations. RC
