Muslim family attacked in Lapu-Lapu City

CEBU CITY–A Muslim couple and their two children were brought to the hospital on Friday morning after they were attacked inside their house in Sitio Iba, Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

 
Police identified the victims as Kamad Cabugatan, 43; his wife, Shamza; and their children Jamalodin 15; and Norjata, 10.

 
PO2 Angelo Abella of the Marigondon police station in Lapu-Lapu, said the police were looking for the lone suspect whom a witness identified only as “Taosi.”

Initial police report that the victims were inside their house about 10:30 a.m. when Taosi barged in and stabbed them.

The victims were brought to Mactan Doctors Hospital in Lapu-Lapu.

 
Abella said that among the four victims, Kamad’s condition was serious.
