Pasay City General Hospital is conducting an investigation on the alleged maltreatment of a pregnant woman by one of its doctors.
Hospital director Dr. Marilou Ocampo told Radyo Inquirer 990AM that she received the complaint the day before and had already called for a meeting with the doctors on duty that day.

The 16-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly given a sanitary napkin by a certain Dr. Liza to keep her from crying and making any noise. The doctor supposedly told the patient to stuff her mouth with a Sanitex pad.
Ocampo refused to be interviewed on air but Radyo Inquirer 990AM’s Ruel Perez said she would ask the patient to identify the doctor who was rude to her. If found guilty of maltreatment, the doctor may get fired, Ocampo said. She said she would not tolerate such behavior.
Results of the investigation will be released next week.
In another radio interview, the patient said it was her first time to give birth and that she was having a hard time dealing with the pain.
She admitted that she was hysterical at one point. Instead of assuring her, the doctors in the emergency room scolded her and threatened to move her out.
“Pagkatapos ko po manganak, binato po nila ako ng kumot. Yung time na nagpapahinga na ako noon. Bigla nga po akong nagising,” the patient said.

She said her release from the hospital was even delayed, allegedly because of their complaint.
The patient was discharged from the hospital on Thursday. KS
