Metro Manila temperature reaches 36.4°C; Hotter days expected
A sizzling 36.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Metro Manila on Wednesday, the hottest temperature in the Philippine capital for 2015.
The scorching temperature was recorded at 1 p.m. at the weather bureau’s Science Garden in Quezon City, Gener Quitlong of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) told INQUIRER.net.
Hotter days ahead are expected, he added, as the hottest days of the year are usually during the second or third week of May.
A ridge of a high pressure area continues to affect Northern Luzon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the whole country mostly in the afternoon or evening, Pagasa said.
A storm is also approaching the Philippines and may enter the Philippine area of responsibility over the weekend, Quitlong said.
The storm, with international name Dolphin, was last spotted 3,280 kilometers east of Mindanao.
Dolphin has almost the same track as Typhoon Dodong (Noul) which affected Northern Luzon, but Quitlong said it will likely recurve and not make landfall. CC
