5-hour swim across Sarangani Bay

/ 11:01 PM May 11, 2015

LAWYER Ingemar Macarine, known as the Pinoy Aquaman, swam across the Sarangani Bay on Sunday as part of the formal opening of the SarBay Festival.

It took Macarine, who hails from Surigao province and is currently election officer of Tubigon, Bohol province, 5 hours and 55 minutes to swim the 12.95-kilometer distance between Barangay (village) Kamanga in Maasim town and Barangay Tango in the town of Glan.

Gov. Steve Chiongbian Solon said Macarine’s participation in the festival was also aimed at raising awareness on environmental protection of the province’s rich fishing ground. Allan Nawal, Inquirer Mindanao
