CEBU CITY –At least 20 houses and structures including the Church of Praise owned by Christian Gospel Center Inc. were razed by fire in Sitio Laguna, Baranagy (village) Cogon Pardo, here past 6 a.m. Saturday.
Fire investigators said the fire started at the house of Junjun Paller around 6:10 a.m. and was put under control after 20 minutes.
Cebu City fire marshal Chief Insp. Rogelio Bongabong said the cause of the fire could be the faulty electrical connection of the air-conditioning unit. The damage was pegged at P200,000.
The affected families may be temporarily evacuated to the barangay sports complex, said barangay captain Harry Iran.
