THE behavior of the man who harassed traffic enforcers in Quezon City last week has nothing to do with the security agency he owns, the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigating Agencies of the Philippine National Police said Wednesday.
Scott Ian Yu, the man who assaulted traffic enforcers in Barangay (village) East Kamias, is one of the owners of Firstline Security and Investigation Agency Corp., a security firm registered at PNP Sosia.
But Senior Superintendent Jomar Espino of Sosia said Yu’s misconduct doesn’t affect the reputation of the security agency he owns.
“If you’re going to ask what’s the role of Sosia here, there is none because the action of Yu is an individual action and it has nothing to do with the security agency,” Espino said.
The Quezon City Police District recently filed criminal charges against Yu and his employee Denmark Presto, 22, for threatening and assaulting Simplicio Retirado, 60, and Raul Mercado, 35.
Last April 29, Yu, a Quezon City resident, and Presto were riding a Mitsubishi Montero with license plate UJQ 889 when they were stopped by the enforcers for doing a counterflow on a one-way road.
Aside from a security agency in Barangay (village) Lourdes, Quezon City, Yu also owns a general merchandising store.
“He is one of the incorporators. There are five of them. So it will be a talk among themselves on how the board will act on the actuation of their member,” Espino added.
