STORM Signal No. 1 was raised in Catanduanes and Northern Samar due to Typhoon Dodong (international name Noul) on Thursday afternoon.
The typhoon was last spotted 780 kilometers east of Borongan in Eastern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Dodong packed maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 185 kph. It was moving west-northwest at 20 kph.
“The regions of Bicol, Eastern Visayas, CARAGA and Davao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms,” Pagasa said.
Storm signals may also be raised over Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur on Thursday night.
Dodong may hit Isabela-Cagayan on Sunday, Pagasa earlier said. AC
