TROPICAL Storm Noul will start to bring rains in parts of Luzon and Visayas on Friday, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.
Gener Quitlong, weather forecaster from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas would experience rains by Friday if the storm keeps its pace.
Noul, which will be locally named Dodong, will enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Thursday.
The storm was last spotted at 1,430 kilometers east of Surigao del Norte. It was moving west at 6 kph.
Noul packed maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 100 kph.
“The entire archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms,” Pagasa said.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. AC
