MANDAUE CITY, Cebu—President Benigno Aquino III graced the launching of JobStart Philippines program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at J. Center Mall here Friday morning, Labor Day.

Aquino was expected at the venue at 10 a.m. but he arrived past 10:30 a.m. Since he was late, Aquino wasn’t able to interact with the applicants.

After listening to a short briefing on the program, he toured the nine booths set up at the venue. A few meters outside the venue, militant groups staged a protest rally, occupying one lane of the road. Crowd dispersal police from Mandaue City blocked the group from going near the venue.
