Tax court orders arrest of Napoles’ daughter
THE Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) ordered on Wednesday the arrest of Jeane Catherine Napoles, daughter of pork barrel scam principal accused Janet Lim-Napoles, for failure to attend her bail hearing.
Napoles is required to appear before the CTA for the arraignment of her tax evasion case at the third division.
“For failure to appear despite due notice and pursuant to Rules, the Court ordered that a bench warrant for the arrest of accused Jeane Catherine Napoles y Lim be issued,” the CTA said in its order.
The Tax Court also cancelled the bailbond paid by the young Napoles for her provisional liberty.
Due to her absence, the Tax Court rescheduled the arraignment on May 27.
The younger Napoles is facing two counts of violation of the National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC).
