The suspect in the car theft and killing of government employee Teresita Teaño was convicted by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (QC RTC) on Tuesday for qualified car theft.

Rolando Talban, who was also tagged as gunman in the killing of car dealer Venson Evangelista, was sentenced to reclusion perpetua for the Teaño case by Judge Aurora Hernandez-Calledo of QC RTC Branch 87.

Talban is the alleged hitman of the notorious Dominguez car theft syndicate.

Teaño was killed in broad daylight on June 15, 2011, in front of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University on Kamuning Road, Quezon City.

Three men approached her as she was getting out of her red sedan and asked for the car key. Teaño apparently resisted and the assailants shot her on the right cheek and right upper arm.

Teaño was also run over as her attackers fled using her Hyundai Accent. IDL
