MANILA, Philippines–A port services company ousted from the Manila Harbour Centre has filed a criminal case against a Court of Appeals justice for allegedly issuing an unjust judgment in favor of another party claiming ownership of the harbor complex.
In a 22-page complaint filed with the Office of the Ombudsman last April 17, One Source Port Support Services president, lawyer Cyrus Paul Valenzuela, accused Justice Danton Bueser of issuing decisions that favored the camp of businessman Reghis Romero II.
One Source asked the Ombudsman to investigate Bueser for possible violation of Article 204 of the Revised Penal Code which provides that any judge found guilty of knowingly rendering an unjust judgment in any case submitted to him for decision shall be punished with six to 12 years in prison and perpetual absolute disqualification from holding any public office.
Pending at the appeals court is a case filed by Romero contesting the decision of a Pasig City regional trial court issued last Dec. 1 that ousted Romero from operating and controlling Harbour Centre Port Terminal Inc. (HCPTI) and barring him from representing himself as owner of company.
