Fire razes Valenzuela furniture warehouse

Fire razed a furniture warehouse in Valenzuela City on Saturday, destroying an estimated P10 million worth of property.

No one was reported injured in the fire, officials said.

The fire broke out at 2:20 a.m. at Luxuriant Furniture on Jacinto Street. Firefighters spent more than an hour to bring the blaze under control, causing the fire to gut most of the products stored there.

The building in Barangay West Canumay is owned by one Teodoro Tan.

“There’s not much left of it anymore,” FO1 John Noel Sentillas told the Inquirer.

The blaze reached the third alarm, and was so powerful even the roof of the building collapsed minutes after the fire broke out.

Officials also said mattresses and collapsed walls made it difficult for them to reach the fire with water coming from their hoses. Kristine Felisse Mangunay
