Nancy Binay dares Trillanes to explain his P245-M DAP allocation
SENATOR Nancy Binay turned the tables on Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Thursday, saying the latter should explain the P245-million funding that he received from the government’s controversial Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) from 2011 to 2012.
“I am just wondering whether his grudge against the Binay family is being bankrolled by DAP funds. Dahil ba sa milyun-milyong pondo na ito kaya niya pilit sinisiraan ang aming pamilya?” Binay asked in a statement.
While she was reviewing the documents submitted to her office by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), she said she noted that Trillanes received more funding from DAP.
“Nagtataka ako kasi parang medyo may pagka-favorite ata ng DBM—ni Secretary Abad—si Senator Trillanes. Kasi nung kinompute ko ‘yung total DAP allocation na napunta kay Senator Trillanes it was P245 million,” she pointed out, referring to DBM Secretary Florencio Abad.
“May ‘Oplan Stop Nognog for 2016’… Ngayon, nalaman kong may P245 million DAP na nakuha si Senator Trillanes from Secretary Abad. So ’pag pinagkonek-connect mo ’yung dots, parang magkakadikit, ‘di ba? In a span of one year, nakakuha siya ng P245 million from 2011 to 2012,” Binay added.
DBM documents on the DAP, she said, showed releases of funds for various local projects under Trillanes’ name totaling P245 million.

But Trillanes said all his DAP projects , including those sourced from his Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), before both the DAP and PDAF were declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, were available in his website.
“Lahat ito ay dumaan na sa audit ng COA at wala silang negative findings,” Trillanes said in text message sent to reporters by a member of his staff. AC
