“They picked on the wrong person to intimidate,” said Senator Antonio Trillanes IV after Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay filed a libel case against him.

“He (Mayor Binay) can do whatever he wants basta hahabulin ko sila hanggang makulong silang mga kurakot,” (I will not stop until all of them who are corrupt are in jail) Trillanes said in a text message to reporters on Tuesday.

“Nagkamali siya ng tatakutin,” (They picked on the wrong person to intimidate) the senator added when sought for comment on Binay’s libel charge against him.

On Monday, the mayor filed a libel complaint against the senator, who accused the Binay family of bribing certain members of the Court of Appeals (CA) to stop his suspension.

The CA has issued a temporary restraining order on the Ombudsman’s suspension of Binay, whom the graft buster is investigating for alleged anomalies in the construction of the Makati City Hall 2 parking building.
