An almost four-hour fire hit a newly opened luxury hotel in Makati City late Saturday evening.
The Makati City government reported that the fire broke out at the basement of the Discovery Primea Hotel on Ayala Avenue, across Glorietta, at about 10:15 p.m.
The fire reached third alarm by 10:53 p.m and was put out at 1:55 a.m on Sunday.
The hotel said all of its staff and guests were unharmed following the incident as they were immediately evacuated.
Discovery Primea is a 68-storey hotel and residential tower. It had its “soft opening” in February this year. AJH
