MANILA, Philippines—The political party that will boost the presidential bid of Vice President Jejomar Binay will likely be launched at the earliest, in June.

Preparations for the launch started after Binay’s United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) party was able to recently get its accreditation as a political party from the Commission on Elections, said UNA interim president and Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco.

“We finally got our accreditation and we’re now preparing for the launching of the party,” Tiangco said in a phone interview.

He said the party will hold consultations this month with the founders of UNA party to discuss “how to proceed” now that the party has gotten its accreditation.

Tiangco said they will have to figure out the timetable suitable to them in preparing for the party launch.

He said he was eyeing that the launch of UNA party be held in June, at the earliest.

But he said it would depend on the decision of the party founders.

Those running in the May 2016 election will have to file their certificates of candidacy by October.
