Muntinlupa sets scholarships for college freshmen
A scholarship program of the Muntinlupa City government will be extending financial assistance at P25,000 per semester to qualified freshmen enrolling in various universities in the coming school year, City Hall said on Monday.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi announced that the council had drafted Ordinance No. 15-099 for the benefit of poor but deserving high school graduates in the city.
Under the ordinance, the grants will be open to 100 students enrolling in the Luzon campuses of the University of the Philippines, Asia Pacific College, Ateneo de Manila University, Centro Escolar University, De la Salle University-Manila, Philippine Normal University, University of Santo Tomas, and University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, according to Karla Vasquez Gabriel, director of the Muntinlupa Scholarship Program.
Beneficiaries will be entitled to a maximum of P25,000 each per semester provided they meet certain requirements concerning grades, among others, Gabriel said. Maricar B. Brizuela
