2 suspected shabu retailers arrested in buy-bust

DIGOS CITY, Philippines – Police authorities in Davao del Sur arrested two suspected shabu retailers following a buy-bust operation here early Easter.

Senior Supt. Michael John Dubria, provincial police director, said Alnor Gonzales Clarion, a resident of Barangay (village) San Miguel here, and Jephune Jordan Gariando, 35, a driver and a resident of Del Pilar St., also in this city, were collared after they handed a sachet of shabu to a police-poseur around 2:35 a.m. Sunday.

He said during the arrest, the two suspects yielded two more sachets of the illegal drugs and a digital weighing scale, which led police to believe they were no ordinary pushers.

Charges for violation of Republic 9165 or the Comprehensive Anti-dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being readied against the suspects, who were being temporarily held at the Digos City police lockup cell as of Sunday.

On Tuesday, police authorities in Tagum City in Davao del Norte also arrested two drug suspects and seized some P120,000 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

Junilito Gripo, 46, and John Ford Dulcero, 18, were collared at a checkpoint authorities had set up in Magdum village there following a tip-off that two suspects were transporting shabu to Tagum City.
