MANILA, Philippines–A red Saturday anyone?

On Saturday night, a blood moon teased the Philippines as it hovered over the sky for several minutes.

Renato De Leon, a Weather Specialist II of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said the the blood moon happened during a total lunar eclipse but the cloud condition in the country only allowed a partial view of the moon.

De Leon added that Tropical Storm “Chedeng” contributed to the cloudy skies.

From 7:57 pm to 8:02, the moon shone the brightest.
