Casimiro, however, said it was not a terror attack.

A child and two elderly women were hurt when an improvised explosive went off in Barangay Ayala, Zamboanga City just a few meters away from the police station around 7:45 p.m. Friday.

Casimiro identified the three blast victims as Marvin Esperat, 14; Ofelia Eusebio, 77; and Magdalena Araneta, 61.

The incident happened after authorities nabbed two persons, including the son of suspected drug lord, Margani Samla, who was arrested in 2013. Julie Alipala/KS
