4.5-quake shakes Ilocos
LAOAG CITY, Philippines—A 4.5-magnitude earthquake rocked Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur at noon on Wednesday, but disaster response and local officials did not receive reports of damage or casualties.
A bulletin from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck the Ilocos provinces and Cagayan at 12:04 p.m. Its epicenter was 22 kilometers northeast of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.
The quake was felt at Intensity 4 in Laoag City and the towns of Pasuquin, Pagudpud and Burgos in Ilocos Norte, and in Claveria town in Cagayan province.
The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in the towns of Sarrat, Marcos and Paoay, and Intensity 2 in Badoc town, all in Ilocos Norte, and Sinait town and Vigan City in Ilocos Sur. Cristina Arzadon and Leilanie Adriano, Inquirer Northern Luzon
