Aquino: Coloma a candidate for Civil Service Commission top post

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III on Wednesday confirmed that Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. is a candidate for the Civil Service Commission (CSC) head post.

“That’s correct” was Aquino’s short reply when asked by reporters about it.

There have been reports, quoting sources, that Aquino already picked Coloma to replace Francisco Duque III, whose term ended in February.

However, he declined to comment on whether Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) Director Joel Villanueva will be tapped to head the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) once Coloma is appointed.

“Hintayin na lang natin para makumpleto yung buong proseso (Let’s just wait until the process is completed),” he said. AC
