BACOLOD CITY, Philippines—Six persons were hurt on Wednesday morning when a Ceres passenger bus fell into a canal in Barangay (village) Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Bus driver Junjun Lumantang, 37, was trying to avoid a bike rider that swerved in to the path of the bus that came from San Carlos City to Bacolod about 8:30 a.m.

As a result, the bus fell into the canal, said Senior Inspector Jeovel Sedel, Bacolod police station 7 chief.

Biker Celedonio Bayles, 75, suffered minor injuries when he fell on the ground after losing his balance on his bike, said Sedel.
