The Philippine government still hopes to save a Filipina’s life despite news that Indonesia’s Supreme Court has denied her application for review of her case.
Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed the report that the appeal for judicial review was denied.
However, he said, “Government continues to exert all efforts to support Ms Mary Jane Veloso.”

Coloma explained that government will “continue to exhaust all possible legal means to save the life of Mary Jane Veloso.”
Veloso is among the 10 convicts to be executed in Nusakambangan prison island in Central Java. She was sentenced to death after being caught carrying 2.6 kilograms of heroin at Yogyakarta airport on a flight from Malaysia. RC
