9-year-old boy found hanging inside his bedroom in Batangas
A 9-year-old-boy was found hanging from a belt inside their house in Agoncillo, Batangas, on Thursday, police said Friday.
A report from the Batangas provincial police said the boy’s mother found him hanging inside his bedroom at around 2 p.m., immediately took him down and brought him to the Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery town where the doctors declared the boy dead.
Senior Inspector Ernesto Chavez, acting chief of the Agoncillo Police, said that no signs of ‘’foul play’’ were found at the boy’s bedroom.
Chavez said that based on their investigation, the boy went up on the double-deck bed, tied his belt to an iron protruding from the wall and got himself hanged.
Chavez said it appears also from their investigation that the boy, a Grade 4 pupil, might have been affected by a suicide he had witnessed some time ago.
He said the boy apparently developed a suicide tendency after witnessing someone who hanged himself in the adjacent town of Lemery and even tried it out.
