/ 12:11 AM March 26, 2015

Today, March 26, is the 148th birth anniversary of Braulio Rivera, one of the 13 Martyrs of Bagumbayan. Born in Tondo, Manila in 1867, he became a part of the Katipunan upon its establishment and even organized a chapter in his birthplace. Rivera was arrested with other suspected Katipuneros in 1896. They were tortured, hanged upside down and threatened with drowning by their interrogators. He was executed by firing squad with 12 others on Jan. 11, 1897. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
