MANILA, Philippines—A popular book has said that women are from Venus and men are from Mars. But in the Philippines, just how different are the two sexes?
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) released on March 25 the latest fact sheet comparing Filipino men and women in the fields of population, education, health and nutrition and work and economic participation.
According to the fact sheet, there are a projected 101.5 million Filipinos as of 2015, 51.2 million of them men and 50.3 million, women.
There may be more Filipino men in number, but according to the PSA, more women lived longer, finished college and were literate, among other statistics.
The information in the fact sheet was culled from the PSA, Commission on Higher Education, Food and Nutrition Research Institute and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
In time for Women’s Month this March, here are the #InquirerSeven statistics that show the differences between men and women. RC
