MANILA, Philippine–The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) finally submitted to the Senate on Tuesday a full report of its investigation on the January Mamasapano operation.

A 35-page report dated March 23 and signed by MILF chairman Mohagher Iqbal was submitted to Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., chairman of the Senate committee on local government.

“I respectfully submit herewith a copy of the full report of the Moro Islamic  Liberation  Front (MILF) investigation on the Mamasapano incident, in response to your request for said transmittal in your letter dated March 09, 2015,”  Iqbal said in his letter.

“We trust that this report is treated with fairness and we hope that all the information provided therein will be helpful in your evaluation of the incident,” he further said.

The committee has been hearing the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) until the Mamasapano incident that left 44 elite policemen.

Marcos earlier said the committee would only resume its deliberations on the BBL once the MILF submits its report on the Mamasapano incident. The MILF previously maintained that it would only release its full report to Malaysia, which facilitates the peace talks.
