Today, March 20, is the 15th death anniversary of Senator and Speaker Ramon Mitra Jr. Born on Feb. 4, 1928, Mitra was a journalist and diplomat before he was elected Palawan representative in 1965. He was elected senator in 1971 but his term was cut short by the declaration of martial law. After the 1986 Edsa Revolution, he was appointed agriculture secretary. He died in 2000 at the age of 72.
