MANILA, Philippines — Tropical depression Betty ((international name “Bavi”) maintained its strength Wednesday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
Betty packed maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
It continued to move west at 17kph.
Pagasa earlier said Betty will likely weaken into a low pressure area by Thursday.
The tropical cyclone, the second for this year, was last located 1,045 kilometers east of Casiguran in Aurora.
Meanwhile, the whole country will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
