MANILA, Philippines—The Senate draft report on the Mamasapano incident was released by Senator Grace Poe’s office on Tuesday.
Poe heads the committee on public order, which leads the probe on the incident along with committees on peace, unification, and reconciliation, and finance. The three committees held five public hearings and several executive sessions before they concluded the investigation.
The Mamasapano incident refers to the police operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last Jan. 25 that left 44 elite policemen dead in a mission to arrest two high-value terrorists, Malaysian Zulkifli bin Hir alias Marwan and his Filipino henchman Basit Usman.
