MANILA, Philippines—Senator Jinggoy Estrada temporary left his detention cell to witness his actor-son Julian Emilio Estrada graduate from high school on Tuesday afternoon.

On board a mini bus, Estrada left his detention bungalow at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame past 2 p.m. escorted with police vehicles.

The Sandiganbayan Fifth Division on Monday granted Estrada’s request for furlough to attend his 19-year-old son Julian Emilio’s graduation at the OB Montessori in San Juan City.

However, PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. said in a press briefing that the senator will only be allowed to stay in his son’s school from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The anti-graft court denied Estrada’s motion to leave the Custodial Center from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Cerbo also assured that Estrada won’t have side trips apart from the graduation ceremony.

Estrada, with co-accused Senator Bong Revilla, is detained for plunder over the P10-billion pork barrel scam.

Julian starred in last year’s teenage flick, “Relaks, It’s Just Pag-Ibig.”
