MANILA, Philippines — Senator Grace Poe, who led the Senate probe on the Mamasapano incident, made public on Tuesday a draft report of its investigation on the issue.

Poe is head of the committee on public order that investigated the incident along with committees on peace, unification, and reconciliation, and finance. The three committees held five public hearings and several executive sessions before they concluded the investigation.

The draft report has yet to be routed to committee members for signature.

Once the draft report gets the majority vote of the senators, it will then be reported to the plenary for either rejection or approval.

The Mamasapano incident refers to the police operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last Jan. 25 that left 44 elite policemen dead in a mission to arrest two high-value terrorists, Malaysian Zulkifli bin Hir alias Marwan and his Filipino henchman Basit Usman.
