Araneta Coliseum was inaugurated on Mar. 16, 1960. Located in Cubao, Quezon City, its construction began in 1957 and was finished in late 1959. It occupies a land area of almost 4 hectares. Araneta Coliseum was the venue of the historic “Thrilla in Manila” bout between boxing legends Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier in October 1975. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
