A peek into the BOI report
MANILA, Philippines – Expecting to address unanswered questions on the Mamasapano debacle, the Philippine National Police’s Board of Inquiry finished on Thursday their probe on the bloodiest operation so far for the PNP.
The BOI, led by chairman Police Director Benjamin Magalong, submitted to PNP officer in charge Leonardo Espina and the rest of the PNP leadership the copies of the report.
Widely anticipated by the families of the slain 44 policemen, government officials and the public, the report is a product of the BOI’s month-long investigation on the Special Action Force mission that took the lives of dozens of SAF commandos, 18 Moro Islamic Liberation Front members and five civilians.
As Magalong, Police Director Catalino Rodriguez and Chief Superintendent John Sosito signed each leaf of the 120-page report, reporters were able to take photos of the spiral-bound document.
