Malacañang says no ‘yellow wash’ in Mamasapano probe
MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang on Tuesday insisted that it is not meddling in the investigation of the botched Mamasapano operation, which left 67 Filipinos dead.
“Wala pong cover up at walang white wash or yellow wash (There is no cover up and there is no white wash or yellow wash),” Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. told Palace reporters a day after the Board of Inquiry (BOI) sought an extension in its submission of its report on the January 25 clash between government forces and rebels in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
Aquino critics have accused his administration of trying to cover up or “yellow wash,” a term based on the Liberal Party’s campaign color, the BOI report.
