MANILA, Philippines -The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) freed Sajid Islam Ampatuan on Monday night following the court’s approval of his release after he posted a P11.6-million bail.
A source who declined to be identified because he is not authorized to speak on behalf of BJMP said the young Ampatuan was released at exactly 6:19 p.m.
The source said BJMP had to verify first if he has other pending cases before releasing him from detention.
