BORACAY, Philippines—For their breakthrough idea on how to make Inquirer.net even more “millennial-friendly,” two young advertising professionals were crowned winners of the Kidlat Young Creatives Competition and will represent the Philippines at the prestigious Cannes Lions Festival in June.

Young creatives Amanda Cruz and Toby Fournier of Publicis Manila emerged on top of 23 other entries from 16 other ad agencies with their idea on how to make Inquirer.net an even more engaging site for Filipino millennials who want to leave their own mark on the news.

The Inquirer, the country’s official representative to the Cannes Lions, has been sending the best and the brightest Filipino creatives to the Cannes, which is considered the advertising industry’s Oscars.

“We are truly proud of Amanda and Toby. We will be cheering for you all the way. Go Philippines!” said Inquirer president and CEO Alexandra Prieto-Romualdez.
