MANILA, Philippines—Detained Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is on his way to visit his son Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla who has been confined at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City since allegedly shooting himself accidentally.

Revilla’s convoy left the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame at around 1:30 p.m.

The senator, who was detained for plunder due to his alleged involvement in the pork barrel fund scam, was allowed by the Sandiganbayan First Division to visit his son from 3 p.m to 8 p.m on Tuesday.

He earlier asked the Sandiganbayan for a three-hour furlough.

The vice governor is still in the ICU following his operation on Sunday where a tube was inserted in his body to drain blood from his lung. AJH
