MANILA, Philippines—French President François Hollande was in the Philippines for a two-day state visit from February 27 to 28 to obtain support for actions against climate change.

He brought two famous French actresses with him: Oscar Best Actress winner Marion Cotillard and Melanie Laurent.

Hollande and his delegation also visited Guiuan, Eastern Samar, a town ravaged by Super Typhoon “Yolanda.”

Throughout her visit to the country, Cotillard was seen walking in crutches.

The French president’s visit to the country, considered as one of the frontline nations in the fight against climate change, is a bid to drum up support ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris in December. AJH
