Two armed men in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) robbed a Croatian tourist of $800 in Manila on Wednesday night. Manila Police District Station 9 commander Supt. Dominador Arevalo said that Anto Kritic, 60, told the police that he was walking on M. Adriatico Street when two men approached him, cuffed him and dragged him inside an SUV where they robbed him at gunpoint. Woman who killed husband claims she hears voices
“I’ve been hearing a man’s voice like that of my husband,” the 25-year-old woman who shot and killed her husband in a mall last month has told a jail warden. As a result, the warden of the female dormitory at the Quezon City jail, Supt. Milet Batac, has asked Judge Bayani Vargas of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 219, for permission to take Sheila Macapugay to the National Center for Mental Health for psychiatric evaluation. “The accused was observed to be at all times claiming that she heard different voices—one of which is her husband’s voice…,” Batac said in her letter to the judge. Macapugay is facing murder and parricide charges for shooting and killing her husband, Abel, at SM City North Edsa on Sept. 14. She also shot a security guard, Ricardo Inamac III, who tried to stop her, when she attempted to kill herself. Inamac died of his injuries. Julie M. Aurelio
