MANILA, Philippines–The Manila police closed Padre Faura in Taft Avenue to traffic past 9 a.m. Wednesday after the police bomb squad responded to a call from the Supreme Court security.

High court’s security called the Manila Police at 9:10 a.m. regarding an abandoned box left at the sidewalk across the high court’s main gate.

Bomb squad personnel responded, and found that the box merely contained broken tiles.

Padre Faura was reopened to motorists at around 9:50 am.
