Cefie Padua; 90

MANILA, Philippines–Lawyer Ceferino “Cefie” Padua, a delegate to the 1971 Constitutional Convention and former president of the Lawyers against Monopoly and Poverty (LAMP), died on Monday. He was 90 years old.

An outstanding labor and election lawyer, Padua also served as bar examiner on international and political law. He was a member of the Liberal Party.

He is survived by his wife, Nelie Balangue-Padua, daughter Belihu and son Anthony. Two sons, Reggie and Blitz, died earlier.

His body lies at La Funeraria Paz on Sucat Road, Parañaque. Burial is scheduled after the 9 a.m. Mass on March 1.
