6 nabbed in ‘shabu’ busts in 2 cities
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—Government agents arrested six suspected drug personalities and seized nearly P1 million in shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in separate raids in Valencia and Iligan cities, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Northern Mindanao said on Wednesday.
Roberto Opena, PDEA regional director, said the Valencia raid on Sept. 26 yielded the biggest haul at 60 grams valued at about P600,000.
Monaraga Madali, her live-in partner Naeim Yusop and his brother Kairama Yusop, were arrested, he said.
The next day, Opena said a buy-bust operation in Iligan led to the arrest of Lucita Alperito and her daughter Jennifer. Plastic sachets of suspected shabu worth P84,000 were taken from them, he said.
Anisah Macadato, the suspected supplier of the Alperitos, was subsequently arrested.
